What Happened in St. George...

Sammy, Savana, and I had a great time this last weekend. We got to travel down to the warmest part of Utah and spend some time with super awesome friends. Aaron and Lindsay invited us down to play at their place in St. George. It was nice to thaw out from our freezing and super snowy winter up north. We did an assortment of things and took advantage of the opportunity to relax, sleep, and relax some more...a little bowling, shopping, swimming, playing games, playing rockband, eating delicious food, eating junk food, and playing with Savana. Savana loved watching the wannabe rockstars and especially enjoyed watching Sammy and Aaron play the drums. I believe we have a future drummer in our midst. Savy loved banging her drumsticks on the chair and, when the drumsticks were being used, she kept crawling over to the chair and banging on it with her own drumsticks (wooden spoons). We had a great weekend! Thanks, Maxfields, for the getaway!

Going Commando!

Wow! It's been ages since anyone (sam) has contributed to the blog. I guess it's time for me to take over. Blogging is a great way to show off our adorable little girl! She's too cute to keep contained to simply her family and friends around here. (or even those around here we never see!)

Yesterday, I had the privilege of watching my baby girl take her first wiggles across the room...her first uncoordinated attempts at exploring the world beyond her reach. After many times of Sammy trying to place her on her hands and knees and show her how to really crawl, Savana thought it would be better to do things her own way. With legs kicking wildly, and hands gripping the carpet, she managed to wriggle her way over to Sam's cell phone. You would have thought Superbowl 43 was going on with the amount of cheering that erupted when Savana finally reached the phone! But it wasn't over then! Everytime Savy reached the phone, we reveled in the moment, whipped the phone out of her hands, and made her try for it again. There's something to be said about the way a baby tries things again and again! Well, as most first time parents do, Sammy and I whipped out our video camera for 12 exciting minutes of watching Savy's flailing legs and commando crawl to various toys, and then set off baby proofing our house!
