The First Hunt

My family was heading out of town on Saturday to vacation in sunny California, so we got the grandkids together on Friday night and had a delicious summer barbecue and an exciting Easter Egg Hunt!

All the grandkids are ready to attack the back yard in search of "treasure-filled" eggs. (Savy's already realizing that boys have cooties and it's important to sit as far away from them as possible.)

Savy caught on rather quickly to the idea of finding eggs. She was very focused and determined as she went around her work of collecting eggs.

That is, until she discovered there was candy in the eggs. And then her determination turned from egg-finding to candy-eating.

The Easter bunny also filled the eggs with goldfish crackers, little toys, and fruit snacks. However, as Savy speedily opened up her eggs at the end of the huny, everything got tossed back into the basket except for the candy. And everytime a candy-filled egg was found, she'd shout out "candy!" and then straightaway shove it in her mouth. Thanks mom and dad for having a wonderful Easter dinner and hunt!

To the ladies who participated in spreading some love...here's your love.

Nuckolls, Jr.

Here's little "baby bruder." He's healthy, measured perfectly, and is still a boy! I got to watch him suck his hand and give me a sweet little yawn. I went solo to my ultrasound appointment. Sammy came to my last appointment, and we convinced the doctor to let us take a peek at the gender, so Sam already knew the important part and decided to stay at work. I had to laugh because as I was waiting solo in the waiting room, in walked this cute prego girl with her whole freaking family! Both sets of parents, hubby, and brothers and sisters...all here to watch her little baby on the ultrasound! The joy of that first baby/grandbaby! And although the second baby is just as special and wonderful, it doesn't carry quite the same excitement and anticipation as the first!

Entertaining Oneself

This is how my daughter spent a few precious moments of her time during Young Womens/Young Mens last Wednesday. Sam and I are both in the Presidencies, so once a month, we get to spend our Wednesday evenings together. While the youth were having a food fight in the gym, Savy was entertaining herself with the cupboards, spoons, and even a sharp knife at one point! (we're such good parents!)

She's trying to fit her cute little body into the cupboard space.

She tried to turn her body around and sit up, but decided there wasn't enough room for her to do so.

So she climbed out, opened the other cupboard door, and attempted to squeeze her little body in once more.

But alas, she still can't sit up. So she pulled her sad face, climbed back out, and was off to entertain herself with some other object in the church kitchen.
